Advanced Diploma of Translating (40169SA)

15 units of competency are required for the award of this qualification. All 15 units are core units and compulsory. The tuition fee of this course is A$ 7800.

 

Entry requirements:

 

  1. For international students an IELTS score of 6.5 or completion of a post secondary diploma or above in Australia or an English speaking country is required for being accepted into the course.
  2. All applicants are required to sit an entry test in order to demonstrate adequate competency/proficiency in both English and LOTE (Language Other Than English).

The total hours of the program are approximately 420 hours. For part-time students, the program spans over 52 weeks (2 academic semesters) with each course-delivering week accounting for about 10 hours. For full-time students, the program lasts about 26 weeks (1 academic semester) with each course-delivering week accounting for about 20 hours.

 

The Advanced Diploma of Translating (40169SA) was approved by NAATI at the professional level from 1 January 2006 to 31 December 2011. NAATI approval of the course for 2012 is expected to be acquired in February/March 2012. Subject to NAATI approval, if you successfully complete the advanced diploma and achieve 70% or above in one of the final translating examinations—referred to as the Accreditation Examinations—you are eligible to be recommended to NAATI for the professional translator accreditation..

For part-time students, the program spans over 46 weeks (2 academic semesters) with each course-delivering week accounting for about 10 hours. For full-time students, the program lasts about 23 weeks (1 academic semester) with each course-delivering week accounting for about 20 hours.

NAATI approval of the course is expected to be acquired in Feb/March 2012. Subject to NAATI approval, if you successfully complete the advanced diploma and achieve 70% or above in one of the final translating examinations—referred to as the Accreditation Examinations—you are eligible to be recommended to NAATI for the professional translator accreditation.

Diploma of Interpreting (PSP52410)

 

10 units of competency are required for the award of this qualification: 6 core units and 4 elective units. All 10 units are compulsory. The tuition fee of this course is A$ 7800.
