With years of experience in teaching translation / interpretation as well as work experience, they are amongst the best in the field of translation in Australia. To further broaden the spectrum of our teaching staff, we have also invited numerous senior professors from Australian Translators’ Association to be our advisors and guest professors. |

Professor Ouyang gained his PhD in English in 1995 from La Trobe University, Australia, and is a full member of AUSIT, Australian Institute of Interpreters and Translators Association. Accredited by NAATI in English–Chinese translation (two directional), Prof. Ouyang is the professor and advisor for AITI and guest professor in a number of universities in China and Australia, including Wuhan University, Nanjing University as well as University of Wollongong. He has been working as a professional translator since 1983. Prof. Ouyang is a well-known poet and novelist. His poem collections have won numerous awards in Australia and internationally. Prof. Ouyang has to date published 52 books in both English and Chinese, in the field of poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, literary translation and literary criticism. In 2008 alone, he published four books, On the Smell of an Oily Rag: Speaking English, Thinking Chinese and Living Australian (Wakefield Press), Reality Dreams (Picaro Press), The Kingsbury Tales, a novel (Brandl & Schlesinger) and Chinese in Australian Fiction: 1888-1988 (Cambria, USA). His forthcoming English novels include Loose: a Wild History (Wakefield Press) and The English Class (Transit Lounge Press), and two Chinese translations, A History of English in China and The Masterpiece, both by Shanghai Literature and Arts Publishing House. |

Professor Zhang obtained his PhD (English Language Education) from the University of Melbourne and holds NAATI accreditations in English – Chinese translation (two directional) and interpretation (two directional). Prof. Zhang has taught English writing and translation in a number of universities in China and has taught ESL/EFL in many countries such as Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. Prof. Zhang’s expertise and research interests are: translation theories and practice, simultaneous translation, SFL, EAP, and ESL. Prof. Zhang’s some fifty publications are all in those research areas. |

Mr. Fu is a current PhD candidate in comparative literature and culture in Monash University and holds NAATI accreditations in English – Chinese translation (two directional) and interpretation (two directional). Mr. Fu has extensive experience teaching English and translation in a number of universities in China, US, and the UK. Mr. Fu also has years of translation experience in China and Australia. Mr. Fu has numerous publications including those published in The English World and China Daily. |

Mr. Guo earned his Master degree in education in Australia and holds NAATI professional accreditation in translation. Having taught English and translation for decades, Mr. Guo has rich teaching experience, particularly in translation practice, translation theories, and the application of computers in translation. |

Ms. Tang graduated with a postgraduate diploma in translation from Deakin University and holds NAATI accreditations in English – Chinese translation and interpretation (two directional). Ms. Tang has worked as a translation professional for many years in Australia, with enormous experience in the translation of medical and legal documents. Ms. Tang has the experience of interpreting for President Bush. |

Graduated from Melbourne University with a master’s degree in TESOL and an Advanced Diploma in Translating and Interpreting from RMIT University, Mr. Liu is a NAATI accredited English – Chinese translator (English to Chinese) and interpreter (two directional). Mr. Liu has extensive teaching experience both in China and Australia, and also has accumulated practical experience in the industry. With the combined experience in interpreting and teaching, he is able to guide students to learn and practice in line with the needs of prospective careers. Interaction and students’ involvement are always highly valued in his class. |

Ms. CHEN earned her Masters Degree in Education from Monash University and Advanced Diploma in Translating and Interpreting from RMIT University. She also holds NAATI accreditations in English – Chinese translation and interpretation (two directional). Ms. CHEN has extensive interpreting and translating experiences in both Australia and China. She also has been exclusively engaged in English teaching for years. Ms. CHEN encourages students to gain knowledge through simulative practices and students can always find themselves highly involved in her class. |

Holding a Masters degree in Conference Interpreting and a Postgraduate Diploma in Translating and Interpreting from Macquarie University, Mr. LIANG is accredited for NAATI English – Chinese translation (two directional) and interpretation (two directional). With tremendous onsite interpreting experiences, Mr. LIANG is greatly favored by the students for his easy-going teaching style and utilizing the most updated and practical teaching materials. |

Ms. Xie completed her Master of Translation and Interpreting at Monash University and Advanced Diploma of Translating at Australian Institute of Translation and Interpretation. She holds NAATI accreditations in English – Chinese translation (two directional) and interpretation (two directional). Ms. Xie worked as an English teacher at colleges and training centres in China for years and has gained a wealth of teaching experience. |

Ms. KIM graduated from the Department of Arts History, University of Melbourne. She holds a Cambridge CELTA (Pass A)* and is currently completing a Master of Teaching degree. Ms Kim has years of experience in teaching both in Australia and overseas. Ms. Kim is an expert in making teaching a pleasant and enjoyable experience and is well liked by the students
